Welcome to the Time Space Visualiser reviews!

Welcome to my episode-by-episode reviews of Doctor Who's classic series, from 1963 to 1989. This project took a whopping 5 years and 4 months, from start to finish, and was a rollercoaster ride. I enjoyed it. But no, I'm not moving on to the new series (in case you're wondering!).

If you're looking for a particular story or episode, you can use the Search tool on the right, the A-Z list in the right-hand column further down, or click 'Read More' below
 for links to individual Doctors.

And thank you - so much - for reading. I hope you enjoy!

  1. I'd just like to say that your blog is one of the top three I reference when writing my essays. Your viewpoint is thorough and insightful and I learn things about a story I hadn't noticed even after repeated watchings.

So here's a thank you for your excellent work.

    1. Hello Greenpear! Thank you so much for your wonderful, kind words about my review blog. They are as much appreciated as they are unexpected. My blog is a real labour of love, started 4 years ago when my life was a lot less full. These days I have quite a busy life, and the blog has to be squeezed into spare moments, so has slowed down, but I still love writing it and picking out personal observations which may or not be original or right, but are at least mine! I wasn't aware of your 'death and Dr Who' blog but it looks really fascinating, so I'll be taking a proper look (particularly interested in what you have to say about Steven's attempted hanging in The Gunfighters). Thank you once again, sending good vibes from Wales to Pennsylvania!

    2. Thank you your words of encouragement.

The Blog is a companion to a book I'm writing called, aptly enough, Death and Doctor Who. The blog is for those odds and ends that sometimes don't fit into the essays for the book but I needed to put them down somewhere.

As I am retired, my life is so unbusy that sometimes the only thing that occupies my time is writing my books.

  2. Hi, I also wanted to say thanks for a fantastic blog - it's become my first visit straight after watching a classic episode. Your insights are always perceptive and I enjoy that you try to be positive about the stories, striking the same appreciative tone as the excellent Running Through Corridors books. And the screenshots are a great touch - whenever I watch an episode now, I'll try to guess which ones you'll use.

I'm not going through all your posts in order - just as and when I watch the episodes - so there are plenty more to enjoy.

Thanks again, and I can't wait for your revised reviews of the recently recovered episodes of The Daleks' Master Plan.

    1. Thank you Andy, that's very kind of you to take the time to leave such a lovely comment. I'm so glad you enjoy reading the reviews, and I appreciate that you read them every time you've watched an episode. All the best - and enjoy the rediscovered episodes once they're out there!
